Horton named Kitsap Sun publisher

Charles Horton has been named president and publisher of the Kitsap Sun.
The 34-year-old Horton has been the paper's director of advertising and online operations.
Former Sun Publisher Mike Levi made the announcement Wednesday on behalf of the E.W. Scripps Co. Levi retired at the end of May.
Horton begins his new job immediately.
He joined the Sun in 2004 as circulation director, before being named director of audience development in 2007. Horton became director of advertising and interactive operations during the Kitsap Sun's business-side restructuring earlier this year.
Horton began his newspaper career in 1997 as the circulation sales manager at the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner in Alaska.
