Oregonian's Patrick Stickel retires

Patrick Stickel, president of The Oregonian, retired Dec. 30, 2009. He had been interim publisher since his father, Fred, retired in September. The younger Stickel had been president since 1993. "He's been involved with every facet of this newspaper except the newsroom," said Tom Whitehouse, the paper's human resources director. "He basically ran this newspaper." Chris Anderson is now publisher.
