At the annual meeting of the members of PNNA, held Sept. 18 in Seattle, several motions were approved. First was a decision to mitigate dues for any PNNA-member newspaper that agrees to become a partner in the two classified networks being offered by the association. A list of those who have agreed to join is posted on the PNNA website. Additional information on these programs can be obtained by calling PNNA Executive Director Jack Bates at (888) 344-7662.
The 2010 annual meeting will be in Portland during mid-September. Staff has been instructed to search out a hotel that will offer rooms and meal charges that are member-friendly while not sacrificing comfort and convenience to the downtown area.
The slate of officers for the coming year will be: president, Heidi Wright, publisher, the Herald and News, Klamath Falls, OR; vice president, Mi-Ai Parrish, publisher, The Idaho Statesman, Boise, ID; treasurer, Pat Doyle, publisher, Anchorage Daily News, Anchorage, AK; and secretary, Rowland Thompson, Allied Daily Newspapers of Washington, Olympia, WA.
Nathan Alford, publisher of The Lewiston Tribune and the Moscow-Pullman Daily News in Idaho, and Harlan Beagley, publisher of the Columbia Basin Herald, Moses Lake, WA, were elected to fill seats on the PNNA Board of Directors.
