Bhatia to editor at Oregonian



Peter Bhatia becomes editor of The Oregonian in Portland, the newspaper reports. He has been managing editor and executive editor. Bhatia succeeds Sandra Mims Rowe, who had been editor since 1993. "Her strong leadership changed the face of The Oregonian, leading us to new levels of journalism and service to the region," said N. Christian Anderson III, who recently became publisher at The Oregonian. Bhatia, also with The Oergonian since 1993, previously was executive editor at The Fresno (Calif.) Bee.
