Three promoted at Seattle Times Co.

Boardman continues as executive editor at The Times and seattletimes.com. “Dave’s journalistic passion combined with his vision for both print and digital content and his strategic approach for success today and into the future are invaluable attributes that will continue to make The Seattle Times one of the premier regional newspapers in the country,” Frank Blethen, publisher and CEO, said in a news release.

Fisco, currently vice president of Circulation and Marketing, adds oversight of print and online advertising, marketing, branding and research. “Alan has demonstrated a terrific capacity for business excellence, innovation, accountability, relationships and results -- all traits which will make him an excellent leader into the future,” said Carolyn Kelly, President and COO.

Shepard moves from publisher of Times’ affiliate newspaper the Yakima Herald-Republic and president of the Seattle Times Affiliate Newspapers. He will oversee all circulation, printing and distribution operations as well as human resources/labor management functions. “Mike has shown great strength as a leader in his 10 years since joining the Times’ family of newspapers,” Kelly said.  “He will be an excellent addition to  the senior team in Seattle.”

The three executives, together with Frank Blethen, publisher and CEO; Carolyn Kelly, president and COO; and Ryan Blethen, associate publisher and editorial page editor, will constitute the company’s senior executive team.

Alayne Fardella, current senior vice president, Business Operations, has announced plans to retire this summer.
